2014 Gore District Community Awards

The 2014 awards saw a record 62 nominations and a sell out crowd once again at the Gore Town and Country Club stadium.

The successful nominees were:

Gore District Civic Award: Pakeke Lions Club.

Community Impact Award: Southern Field Days Committee.

JD Souness Young Achiever: Nicholas Bastiaansen; runner up Kate Cummings.

Contribution to Arts & Culture: Jim Geddes.

Hovell Environmental Contribution to the Environment: Marie-Ellen Beggs.

Gore Musical Theatre Emerging Performing Artist: Nina Kopa.

Soroptimist International of Gore Woman Achiever of the Year: Marianne Parks.

Fonterra Services to Sport: Errol Hewlett, runner up Russell Newton.

ANZ Junior Sportswoman: Emma Hopcroft.

ANZ Junior Sportsman: Gavin Stark.

Sport Southland Coach of the Year: Russell Newton.

Newslink-Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award: Livestock Supplies, runners up Spark and The Green Room. Caltex Mataura was the People's Choice winner.
