e-Books

Gore and Mataura library members can access a wide range of e-books and e-audiobooks for free.

You need a computer, tablet or mobile device with a modern web browser. Please note that Kindle is not yet compatible with library e-book lending services.

e-Books

We have joined with 13 other South Island Library authorities to provide e-books and e-audio via Overdrive. This service is brought to you via the South Island Downloadable Zone website.

Once you are on the website

  • Select Gore Libraries, sign in with your library card number, using lower case for the initial letter. The default pin is l1brary (1 instead of an i)
  • Download with either EPUB or PDF format, but for other formats install OverDrive Media Console or Adobe Digital Editions

e-Audio Books

We also provide e-books and e-audio books via the popular Bolinda website

Download Bolinda's BorrowBox mobile app. at the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android. Our e-audiobooks also work with software you may already have.

Once you are on the website's Gore page

  • Sign in with your library card number, using lower case for the initial letter. The default pin is l1brary (1 instead of an i)
  • Import your e-audiobook downloads to iTunes or Windows Media Player on your home computer, then transfer them to your device. You can download the full audiobook or in parts.
  • Locate your downloaded e-audiobook file, unzip it and move the file to your media manager on your computer.
