Alert Level 2 

The move to COVID-19 Alert Level 2 means there’s a few changes to how we do business.

All our facilities remain open – please ensure all visits are recorded using our QR codes or visitor registers.

We ask all our customers to please keep physical distancing to 2 metres. If you feel unwell, please stay at home.

We also encourage you to use contactless payment whenever possible. If you plan to pay an account by cheque, please write it at home and just drop it off at our reception.

Thank you for your patience. Here’s our Level 2 details:

 

Gore Aquatic Centre

  • The pool is closed from 3:30pm to 6:00pm for swimming lessons and squad training
  • AquaHit cancelled on Tuesday 
  • Enter the complex through separate entrances for the pool, stadium and ice rink
  • Maximum of four swimmers per lane, no bookings necessary
  • Spa is open, but only one person per clover
  • A maximum of 15 participants for aqua
  • Lessons will be for participants only, and one parent per preschool swimmer
  • No spectators at pool or stadium. 
  • Not available for public use - inflatables, kayaks, hire equipment, leisure pool slide
  • Swimming lessons will continue, all children in tadpole and frog classes require an adult in the water. 

 

MLT Event Centre

  • Bookings must be made for court use and must include warm up and cool down times.
  • 2m distancing rule must be adhered to.
  • Bookings will continue to be paid in full on the day, by one designated person, before the group enters the stadium, unless other arrangements have been made.
  • Team coaches must complete contact tracing for their teams.
  • Not available for public use - gallery seating, changing rooms, shows 
  • Hoops are available for shots, court 2 only.
  • Limited seating will be provided as per distancing rules for teams only.
  • Bring your own equipment, sanitiser will be made available.

 

 Gore Library

  • Storytime is cancelled at the Gore and Mataura libraries on Tuesday and Friday respectively
  • Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times
  • Call and collect lending is available
  • Newspapers are unavailable
  • Keep visit time to a minimum
  • Public internet computers - 30 minutes maximum

 

Gore Transfer Station

  • Please stop at the kiosk, even if you are dropping off greenwaste. 
  • Vehicle registrations will be recorded against your transaction for contract tracing purposes.
  • Fees still apply.   Contactless payments is the preferred payment method i.e. card payments.
  • Kerbside wheelie bin collection continues as usual

 

Parks and Playgrounds

  •  All playgrounds and reserves are open
  • Dolamore Park is open

 

Gore Ice Rink

Ice Sports Southland owns and operates the ice skating rink. While an integral part of the Gore Multisports Complex, the rink is run independently from the Council’s Gore Aquatic Centre and MLT Event Centre.

Our staff assist Ice Sports Southland with bookings and over the counter payments. However, they are not responsible for the overall operation and management of the rink.

 If you have any queries regarding the policies and procedures for the ice rink at Level 2, please contact Chris Hughes at chris@bmn.co.nz.

 To avoid contact with other users and to keep to distancing rules, entry to the rink will be made at the rear entrance. All rink payments will be made inside the rink at Level 2.
