Gore Visitor Centre
Located in the heart of the heritage precinct at 16 Hokonui Drive (entrance and carparking on Norfolk Street) Gore Visitor Centre is front of house for the Old Hokonui Moonshine Museum and Distillery, conveniently located opposite the Eastern Southland Art Gallery.
The Gore Visitor Centre is:
- A great source for local information in the form of advice, brochures and maps.
- The place to buy local products by Southland food producers and artisans with all your souvenirs and gifts readily available.
- Able to make your travel bookings for Real NZ, Intercity, Catch-a-Bus, the Interislander and Bluebridge Ferry’s plus Kiwirail scenic journeys
History and family research enquiries can be taken to be passed on to our very knowledgeable Heritage Team. There are some helpful books in store to get started on the rich history of Gore and the Macrae family.
The friendly visitor centre team has the local knowledge and experience to make your stay memorable for all the right reasons.

- Saturday - 10:00am - 2:00pm (October to April)
- Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm (October to April)
