Alcohol ban areas
An alcohol ban area means members of the public cannot consume alcohol or have it in their possession in a certain areas. We have alcohol bans in central Gore and Mataura.
Why do we have liquor bans?
Alcohol ban bylaws are in place to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. They also help deal with anti-social behaviour caused by drinking alcohol, and reduce the negative impacts drinking alcohol has in public places.
