Council scholarship applications open
The Gore District Council is once again offering two tertiary education scholarships worth $750 each.
This year is the third the Council has offered the scholarships, which were an initiative of the Gore District Youth Council.
The aim is to provide not only a financial boost for tertiary students, but also the opportunity for paid employment during the summer months. This added financial incentive has made the scholarships popular among school leavers.
The scholarships are open to those aged 19 years or under, who reside in the Gore District.
The Council is looking for applicants who:
- are dedicated to studying,
- have a clear vision of the goals they want to achieve, and
- a passion for making a difference.
Applications close on Wednesday 28 October.
The Council also provides administration support for the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Trust scholarship, which is also open at present. Applications to this scholarship close on Friday 23 October.
