Gore District Ambassador entries open
The current Gore District Ambassador runner up Rosie Alderton and Gore District Council Events and Promotions Coordinator Emma Carlé will be available at the Thomas Green on Friday 24 March from 5.00pm for the Gore Young Professionals monthly catch up.
The Gore District Council is looking for a new ambassador for the District.
This is an opportunity for 18 to 35-year-olds living in (or with a strong connection to) the Gore District, to share their passion for the District and promote its many attributes.
Entries are now open and close on Thursday 6 April at 5.00pm.
Gore District Council Events and Promotions Coordinator Emma Carlé said the Council was working closely with the Gore Young Professionals to make sure the opportunity was as relevant as possible to that age group.
“We’ve had feedback that those taking part would really like it to be a professional development opportunity so we are working hard on that.”
All Gore District Ambassador entrants will have the opportunity to improve their public speaking skills, get tech savvy, and improve their people and networking skills.
“They’re all great skills for any young person and worthwhile to have on a CV,” Ms Carle said.
The winner’s prize package is worth more than $3500 and includes a trip to Gore’s sister city Tamworth. The winner can choose which of Tamworth’s major events to attend, based on their interests.
Entrants need to be sponsored by a business or community group. There will be some fun challenges for entrants to complete before the final awards night on Thursday 25 May.
Gore District Mayor Tracy Hicks said “this is a fantastic opportunity for all young people to not only promote the District but also develop their own life skills”.
