New fees and charges adopted
The Gore District Council has increased admissions fees to the Gore Multisports Aquatic Centre and Mataura Centennial Pool.
The increase is included in the fees and charges for the coming financial year, which were adopted by the Council this week.
Aquatic services manager Kim Peterson said it is proposed to increase the cost of a swim by 50c. This will be the first admission fee increase for the aquatic centre since it was opened 11 years ago.
Fees comparable with other centres
The new fees are comparable with other aquatic centres throughout the country, she said.
The new admission fee for a swim will be $4.50 for an adult at Gore ($3.50 Mataura), $2.50 for children up to 16 years at Gore and Mataura, and $3.50 for a student/senior citizen in Gore ($3 in Mataura).
Leaping Frogs Swim School costs will increase by between $4 and $15 while concession cards for both pools will increase between $2.50 and $20. There will be a minimal increase in court hire fees for the MLT Event Centre as well, Ms Peterson said.
The new fee regime will increase the Gore Multisports Complex’s income by $20,000, providing current admission levels are maintained.
