Norton Street temporary closure

The Gore District Council is currently laying new pipes in the north Gore area as part of a stormwater upgrade project and will be temporarily closing a section of Norton Street.

Work started today on digging up the street to allow for the laying of new outfall pipes and the installation of new manholes in the centre of the road.

From Monday (15 December) Norton Street will be closed, between Takitimu and Waimea streets, from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Closure times may vary, although it is planned to reopen the road each day after 5.00pm to one way traffic at least.

We will try to ensure minimum disruption for residents. People living immediately adjacent to the site will be able to relocate their vehicles before work starts each day.  Depending on the work at the time, residents can usually access their properties with vehicles.
