Pamper Your Pooch

Gore District dog owners have a good reason to make sure their dogs are registered on time this year with a $100 pooch pamper pack up for grabs.

The Council is offering owners the chance to win this special prize just by registering their dog before Friday 14 August, which puts them into the draw.

Notices will be posted out to all known dog owners in the next couple of weeks as a reminder to get their dogs registered for the new financial year. If someone is a new dog owner and their puppy is over three months old, it has to be registered. Just download a registration form from the link below and drop it in to the Council.

Everyone goes into the draw. As well as having a chance of winning a great prize, dog owners will also save money by avoiding the 40 percent penalty added to registration fees paid after 14 August.

The other great news is that there has been no increase in dog registration fees and other dog control costs.

This means if a dog owners lives in the urban area and their property is fenced, dog has been fixed, and the Council has had no complaints or impounded it within the last two years, the fee is $55.50.

Rural dog owners pay $17, providing there have been no complaints or impoundments within the last two years.

Please note that anyone who does not register their dog by Friday 11 September will be fined $200.
