Tulloch Park redevelopment begins

Stage One of the redevelopment of Tulloch Park is schedule to start this week.

This will require erecting a fence around the entire park to restrict public access (please refer to map attached). With the park effectively becoming a construction site, the Mataura Community Board and Gore District Council asks the public to stay away from the area.

Stage one involves establishing the following:

  • A jogging track
  • Fitness stations
  • A pump track
  • A playground
  • Asphalt walkways
  • Timber decks

It is planned to have work finished by December, weather permitting. During construction the following will be closed:

  • Playground access from SH1 and Glendhu Road
  • The gravel car park behind the old pool and rugby field
  • Tulloch Park public toilets (Queens Park public toilets are open 24/7)

The carpark immediately to the south of the old pool is still available for use.

Thank you for your consideration. The Community Board and Council are looking forward to delivering this innovation and exciting recreational centre for the Mataura community and wider Gore District.

If you have any questions please contact the Council’s Chief Executive Stephen Parry, phone 209 0330, or a community board member.
