We're changing the way we do business

At the Gore District Council we pride ourselves on striving to deliver a quality, efficient service. We also know our customers' time is valuable.

From Monday 3 September we are making some changes at the main administration office aimed at just that. As part of this drive for efficiency, customers will need to go to our ground floor reception so our customer service team can contact the right staff member for them.

We also encourage people to make an appointment to ensure we have the information and files specific to their enquiry ready when they arrive.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays an appointment is essential for customers wanting to do business with our:

  • Building services,
  • Roading,
  • 3 Waters,
  • Planning,
  • Regulatory,
  • Alcohol licensing,
  • Rates enquiries, and
  • Rates rebates.

An appointment is not necessary on a Tuesday and Thursday, however, one is advisable to avoid delays. Making an appointment cuts down on everyone’s time, avoids a wasted trip to our office and ensures people get the right advice quickly. 

With today's advances in technology our staff are not only dealing with customers at the counter. A lot of our customers are online, contacting us via email.

All are important and we need to ensure staff are able to give everyone the same high level of service.

We know there will be some challenges as we work through these changes and appreciate any feedback people may have.
