Join the Gore District Council team as a 3 Waters Compliance Officer and play a vital role in ensuring that our water resources are managed effectively and in compliance with standards. This role is expansive and essential for the smooth operation of our community’s water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Overview of the Role:
As the 3 Waters Compliance Officer, you will monitor and action compliance requirements for resource consents and Drinking Water Standards, providing essential support to our 3 Waters Managers. You will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external bodies, ensuring that our policies and plans are implemented efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will help elevate the quality of customer service and uphold the standards set by the Council and relevant authorities.
What you will do to contribute:
· Monitor and action compliance requirements for resource consents and Drinking Water Standards.
· Provide asset management support and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where necessary.
· Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to ensure adherence to policy and best practices.
· Ensure compliance with resource consent requirements and update management plans as needed.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive databases related to compliance monitoring.
· Conduct thorough investigations into complaints regarding non-compliance.
· Respond to public enquiries and investigate reports of non-compliance.
· Assist in the preparation of the Council’s Long-Term Plan and perform analytical data collection.
· Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to bylaw requirements.
· Provide timely responses to public enquiries regarding water quality and compliance.
Ideal candidate:
· A degree or diploma in engineering, science, or a related field. (Not essential)
· Proven experience in a technical or compliance role, preferably within a similar environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
· An enthusiastic attitude and a desire to provide a high level of customer service.
· The ability to manage workloads effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
