Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre
The Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre, at Mandeville, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating New Zealand's civil aviation heritage.
De Havilland feature as the main aircraft on display, including Fox Moth, Dominie Rapide, Dragonfly, Vampire and Tiger Moth. There's also the only replica of the 1910 Pither monoplane and other aircraft on display. Nearly all of the aircraft on display can still fly, with the Tiger Moth available for flight bookings.
Each year in February, the Mandeville airfield hosts the Mandeville Fly In and Steam Festival. This is a celebration of flight and a chance to get up close to vintage aircraft, motorcycles, cars and steam engines in all their glory.
Waimea Plains Railway also operate the Rogers K92 Steam Train in Mandeville on scheduled running days during the Summer Season.
